Thai ‘ni

Saturday, January 19th, 2008

Right next to Domingo’s at 17544 Ventura Blvd. is Thai ‘Ni. They offer a ton of Combo’s including this tasty Pad Thai and Chicken/Beef Satay for under $10. Pad Thai is typically western, not too spicy, a little sweet. Satay was great, with what seems to be a homemade peanut sauce that was probably the best I’ve had. I’ve heard things about the ribs, will try those next time.img_1235.JPGimg_1238.JPG

The Swinging Door BBQ

Thursday, January 17th, 2008

Located at 11018 Vanowen at Vineland sits this “Texas BBQ” joint. I spent the first 3 years of life in Texas, and yea, you guessed it, I don’t know a damn thing about real BBQ, but I do know that if they smoke it over wood, shit should be good. This place smokes it but I ain’t finna be fixin for it anytime soon. Small portions and saucy, though the meat was definitely smokey I’ll give them that. Mac N Cheese was mediocre, service was prompt, and they have one of those original Mario Bros arcades if you play games.img_1229.JPGimg_1227.JPGimg_1228.JPG
